Flowers over the Inferno, by Ilaria Tuti in an interesting story that takes place in Travenรฌ (Italy). This moving book is about an Italian superintendent, Teresa Battaglia, who starts investigating a savage murder in the woods. While battling with her own problems, Teresa tries to solve this and the following mysterious attacks happening in a small village with the help of a new agent called Massimo.

Just in case you are confined, bored, or having some glorious free time on your hands I have read a book you may enjoy. The Thursday Murder Club is a lovely murder-mystery story that takes place in an exclusive retirement home. In there, Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibra, and Ron are four of the restidents who embark on a series of missions to discover whoever is causing some death in the area.

It is not even summer yet and I think we can officially declare “Despacito by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee as THE song of the summer of 2017. Unless you’ve been isolated in a remote location you must be familiar with this song:

It’s been played on radio stations all over the world several times a day and then, back in April Justin Bieber made it even more viral if possible by releasing his own version (even though he is not quite familiar with the lyrics still).

Hand gestures can be a vital factor in many languages and it is well known that Italian is one of those languages.

A great way to impress students would be to start the lesson by saying:

Today we are going to learn how to communicate with other people in Italian butย none of you is going toย need to open your mouths at any momentย for this purpose. How does that really work? Well, it is part of the privilege of speaking Italian. Welcome to the family! Let me show you!

Also, if you have someone in particular who is very chatty in your class while everyone else is working, or simply you need to have a quiet moment from the students, you could play the card of ONLY ITALIAN GESTURES ALOUD NOW and everyone should only communicate with gestures until further notice.
